The Landsdon Group was formed out of three well-established contract flooring distributors with more than 30 years' successful trading: Carpet and Flooring Birmingham, serving the Midlands area since 1973; Walkwell Flooring Supplies, located in Manchester, a major distributor in the North West since 1979 and Carpet and Flooring Bristol, supplying the South West since 1984. Landsdon was established in 1992 and has grown into one of the largest distributors of floorcovering products – stocking and distributing products from Europe’s leading manufacturers, as well as its own domestic and contract floorcovering brands, Vanguard Carpets and CFS Carpets. The Group's turnover is £75 million. Carpet and Flooring, London has recently relocated to new premises in Camberley, having outgrown its former Ash Vale distribution centre. Extra capacity and state of the art logistics facilities will drive Carpet and Flooring, London to even more success. Landsdon’s fifth distribution company distributes throughout the North East. Carpet and Flooring, Gateshead is the latest company to unfold. Even though it is still in its infancy, Gateshead is showing signs of great success. In December 06, the Central Distribution and Logistics facility completed a move to purpose built premises in Redditch. The 100,000 sq ft warehouse has capacity for over 1 million square metres of carpet and ½ million square metres of carpet tiles – This capacity has enabled the Group to stock over 100 ranges within its domestic carpet brand, Vanguard and to carry large stocks within its contract carpet brand CFS. This facility houses the Landsdon's administration centre and the central distribution operation. April 2008 saw the acquisition of Wood Floor Sales Ltd, a long established specialist in the Hardwood and Laminate distribution market. The business moved to the central distribution hub bringing expertise, stock and support services under one roof. The range includes hardwood and laminate floors suitable for environments from residential through to heavy commercial. Our hardwoods meet important ‘eco- friendly’ demands and many floors hold FSC or PEFC environmental certification.
