The Landsdon Group was formed out of three well-established contract flooring distributors with more than 30 years' successful trading: Walkwell Flooring Supplies, located in Manchester, a major distributor in the North West since 1979; Carpet and Flooring Birmingham, serving the Midlands area since 1973 and Carpet and Flooring Bristol, supplying the South West since 1984. Landsdon was established in 1992 and has grown into one of the largest distributors of floorcovering products – stocking and distributing products from Europes leading manufacturers, as well as its own domestic and contract floorcovering brands, Vanguard Carpets and CFS Carpets. The Group's turnover is in excess of £75 million. In 1999 Landsdon opened its fourth distribution company, Carpet and Flooring London, serving contractors in London and the South East. Carpet and Flooring, London is based in a purpose built facility in Ash Vale. In December 06, the Central Distribution and Logistics facility completed a move to purpose built premises in Redditch. The 100,000 sq ft warehouse has capacity for over 1 million square metres of carpet and ½ million square metres of carpet tiles – three times the capacity of previous facility in Alcester. The increased capacity has enabled the Group’s domestic carpet brand, Vanguard Carpets to stock over 100 ranges. The Group’s contract carpet and tile brand, CFS Carpets, will significantly increase both its range and depth of products.. This facility houses the Landsdon's administration centre and the central distribution operation. A brand new state of the art cutting machine has been installed which has the capacity to cut 5 metre broadloom. 5 metre broadloom can now be offered on a next day basis throughout the UK.
